Our Story
Ocean Botanicals was born from one Marine’s return to his roots.
Giovani grew up in Jamaica, where sea moss was a staple in his diet. But when he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and later the U.S. Army, life got fast and processed meals became standard.
He began to feel the shift - lower energy, slower recovery, and a sense that something was missing. That’s when he started searching for natural, plant-based ways to fuel his body through intensive military training.
It didn’t take long for Giovani to realize the answer had been with him all along.
Sea moss.
"As a kid growing up in Jamaica playing soccer all day, I was trying to figure out where all of that energy came from. It came from sea moss. My dad used to add 1-2 tablespoons to my smoothies and I was good to go."
He reintroduced sea moss into his diet and immediately felt the difference.
"After adding sea moss into my diet again, I noticed my muscle weren't feeling as sore the day after a strenuous workout. I feel better when taking sea moss regularly and I wanted to help other people unlock a better version of themselves."
Inspired by his experience and success stories from other sea moss consumers, Giovani teamed up with Wayne, a board-certified cardiovascular nurse with over 30 years of experience, and Vernon, a St. Lucia native with deep knowledge of sea moss harvesting.
